JOB SUMMARY:

The main activities of the Green project component are environmental training and awareness activities that are integrated into ongoing KDP processes and activities. This is to avoid creating additional activities in the district and provincial level that may lead to ‘training fatigue’ amongst the project participants.


The expected outputs from the two main activities are:

· Strengthened capacity of KDP trainers and facilitators in facilitation and communication processes and increased knowledge in ecologically sound natural resource and environmental management;

  • Training and information, education, and the development of communication materials related to environmental issues in KDP projects;
  • Awareness campaign programs that cover environmental and natural resource governance issues related to project sites and portfolios of village-level awareness and education programs for targeted areas (Wajo, Maros and Tana Toraja Districts)
  • Opportunities for communities, NGO, private sector and universities to participate more effectively in local management of natural resources.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

1. GOALS:

  • Developing capacity of village-level and kacamatan facilitator to be more professional, well accepted in community, has a better communication ability and able to strength the awareness and participation of community in natural resources management process.
  • Increase the knowledge and awareness about natural resources management and environmental issues which are include gender mainstreaming among community and decision maker (in the level of village, kecamatan and kabupaten).
  • Developing campaign program and increase the awareness topic which is consist of environmental management and natural resources that related to project location.
  • Strengthened capacity of partners (PNPM facilitator, local government and community) to be more accepted, able to communicate and able to strength public participation to support adaptation process into the better development project ecologically.
  • Opportunities for communities, NGO, private sector and universities to participate more effectively in local management of natural resources.

2. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

a) Managing and developing awareness topic about natural resources and environmental issues including gender mainstreaming among community and decision maker for PNPM facilitator in the village and kecamatan.

b) Developing awareness media as TOT topic and natural resources management and environmental issues for community including gender mainstreaming among community and decision maker.

c) Strengthened capacity of village and kecamatan facilitator to be more professional, well accepted, has a better communication ability and able to strength the awareness and community participation in natural resources management process.

d) Developing the network to support the partners improvement related to natural resources management and environmental issues including gender mainstreaming among community and decision maker.

QUALIFICATIONS:

§ Education: University degree in Social Studies, Development Studies and related field

§ At least 3 years relevant experience working as educational staff and awareness for capacity building project or program (developing the topic/material, media and training method) in community development.

§ Familiar about community development, gender issue and natural resources management.

§ Knowledge of behavior change concept and able to give a concrete action into daily life in natural resources management perspective and environmental issues including gender mainstreaming.

§ Experience in PNPM project preferably.

§ Good computer skills (Ms. Office application)

§ Good command in English
